Gov. Janet Mills has signed a new law that decriminalizes the possession of hypodermic syringes. It eliminates the crime of illegal possession of hypodermic syringes and possessing a hypodermic syringe with residue of drugs.
Previously it was considered illegal trafficking to give hypodermic syringes to others. That is not true with the new bill.
