MDEA Finds Almost 3 Pounds of Fentanyl Concealed in Cans of Food

The Maine Drug Enforcement’s North Central Task Force, after a month’s long investigation, have arrested 3 people in Corinth, Maine and seized a significant amount of suspected fentanyl.

Early Wednesday morning, March 30, MDEA agents, assisted by the Maine State Police Tactical Team, executed a search warrant on a Black Road home in Corinth. This search warrant was the result of an MDEA investigation related to the sale of large amounts of fentanyl brought to the residence by out of state traffickers and distributed throughout Penobscot County.

Seized during the search warrant was approximately 2.8 pounds of suspected fentanyl along with approximately $3000 in suspected drug proceeds. Most of the fentanyl seized was located within
sealed cans of beans.

Arrested thus far in connection with this investigation are:
1. Jefferson De La Cruz-Bonilla (23) of Lawrence, Mass and the Dominican Republic, charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl.) This charge was aggravated due to the amount of Fentanyl seized.
2. Dusty Bickford (26) of Black Road in Corinth charged with Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl.) This charge was aggravated due to the amount of Fentanyl seized

3. Jessica Bickford (23) of Black Road in Corinth, Maine. Class A Aggravated Trafficking in Schedule W Drugs (Fentanyl.) This charge was aggravated due to the amount of Fentanyl seized
Following their arrests, all three were transported to the Penobscot County jail for booking.

Dusty and Jessica Bickford’s bail was set at $10,000 cash by a bail commissioner. No bail was set on Jefferson. They will all be arraigned in Bangor. Those arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

The investigation is continuing, and more arrests are likely.
