Investigators from the Fire Marshall’s office arrested 34-year-old Kurt Searles of Phillips on Friday, July 1. He was arrested at his residence without incident. Searles was charged with Arson and Conspiracy to Commit Arson for a fire at the Falls General Store in Farmington in April of 2017.

The store has since been demolished but was located at 176 Croswell Road in Farmington.

The Fire Marshal’s office has spent the last five years investigating this case. Recently some new information was able to help investigators move the case forward. Searles was transported to the Franklin County Jail and bail was set at $5,000.00 cash.
