The Androscoggin Mill in Jay will be shutting down next year, meaning 230 people will be without a job.
The closure is a blow for the local economy as the mill is 22% of the Jay tax base.
The mill had to go through multiple rounds of layoffs after the April 2020 explosion, which which damaged a pulp digester.
Hundreds of employees and their families are trying to figure out their next steps after learning the Androscoggin Mill in Jay will shut down next year. 230 employees will be affected by the closure.
