A home at 98 Leeman Arm Road in Palermo was completely engulfed in flames as firefighters arrived, Dec. 15.
A severely burned adult male was in the roadway near the residence who had escaped the fire.
He was transported by ambulance to MaineGeneral and was later transported via LifeFlight to Maine Medical Center.
Fire crews initiated operations to rescue another individual that they were told was still inside the building.
According to CBS 13, WGME, the Liberty Fire Chief confirmed that the second person was found dead.
