From the Waterville Police Department:
Members of the Waterville Police Department seized over 16 pounds of methamphetamine and an illegal firearm after a month’s long drug investigation. At approximately 04:00 PM on 12/30/25, members of the Waterville Police Department executed several search warrants culminating in the seizure of over 16 pounds of methamphetamine (with a street value over $100,000.00) and an illegal firearm. Also assisting in the operation were members of the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, Winslow Police Department, and the Fairfield Police Department. The main source of the investigation (Andrew Symonevich, 48 of Waterville) was taken into custody without incident and charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Scheduled Drugs (Class A), and Illegal Possession of a Firearm (Class B). Bail was set at $35,000.00, with an initial court date of 02/23/26. This investigation is still active, and additional charges may be forthcoming. Chief William Bonney wants to commend the dedication of investigators who worked nearly around the clock to take this poison off the street. “Targeting these source level traffickers is our ultimate goal, as their illicit drugs have a direct effect on our community’s safety and happiness. I am extremely proud of all of our folks whose hard work led to one of the largest illicit drug seizures in the State’s history.”
