The Maine Sheriffs’ Association has announced that they will participate in a ceremonial flag observance in commemoration of America’s 250th birthday.

Flag Sojourn 250 is currently touring all 50 states, with sheriffs’ offices across the country taking part in honoring its significance and the enduring principles it represents.

The flag serves as a powerful symbol of our nation’s founding, unity, and commitment to constitutional governance. Following its nationwide journey, the flag will be respectfully secured and memorialized as part of this historic commemoration.

The Maine Sheriffs will conduct ceremonial observances in Lubec, followed by a stop in Bucksport, on Tuesday, Feb 17. Other dates may be announced.

The public is invited to attend and observe this special event honoring 250 years of American history.
