From the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office:

On Monday, February 23, 2026, at approximately 7:50 a.m., deputies from the Androscoggin County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported two-vehicle crash with injuries in the 1300 block of Maine Street (Route 26) in Poland. Deputies were assisted on scene by Poland Fire-Rescue. Preliminary investigation indicates that Graeme Kaplan, 18, of Cumberland Center, was operating a 2025 Dodge Durango southbound on Maine Street when his vehicle crossed the double yellow centerlines and collided head-on with a northbound 2016 Subaru Outback operated by Rebecca Woodbury, 47, of Raymond. Kaplan, Woodbury, and a 16-year-old male passenger in the Durango were transported to Central Maine Medical Center with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Maine Street was closed for just over one hour while emergency personnel investigated the crash and cleared the scene. Additional assistance was provided by the Mechanic Falls Police Department and Oxford Fire-Rescue. The crash remains under investigation. No further information is available at this time.
