It’s one thing to not see a motorcycle. It’s another to intentionally run one off the road. This takes a special kind of loser.
A suspected road rage incident in Hancock County left a motorcyclist seriously injured and an Eastbrook man behind bars.
Deputies say 43-year-old Shannon Abbott intentionally rammed a motorcycle with his pickup truck on Blackwoods Road in Franklin around 12:30 p.m. Saturday, forcing the bike into a guardrail before it crashed off the road.
Abbott allegedly fled the scene, but witnesses provided a description of the truck and its license plate, allowing deputies to quickly locate him. His truck was seized, and he was taken to the Hancock County Jail.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital before being flown to another facility for further treatment. Police said the victim remains in serious but stable condition.
Abbott is charged with elevated aggravated assault, aggravated assault, reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon, aggravated driving to endanger, and leaving the scene of a personal injury crash.
