Mainers who have been waiting to bet legally on sports within the state, may ne getting their wish soon.
According to WGME, the bill will divvy up who would control online betting versus in-person betting.
In-person betting would be allowed at casinos and off-track betting parlors. However, Maine’s tribes would get exclusive rights to the mobile market.
The next step is a signature from Governor Janet Mills.
