Country music couple Jason Isbell and Amanda Shires are headed for divorce. People reports that Isbell, 45, filed for divorce from Shires, 41, on Dec. 15 in Williamson County outside of Nashville, two months before the couple’s 11th wedding anniversary.
Rumors surrounding Isbell and Shires marriage have been circulating recently, and the two haven’t been photographed together in several months. A birthday tribute to Isbell posted to Shires’ social media account earlier this month was taken down shortly after, and the two unfollowed each other on Instagram. Shires was also not in attendance when Isbell took home two Grammys at this year’s annual award show, including Best American Roots song and Best Americana album.
Isbell plays guitar for Shires’ country music supergroup, The Highwomen (along with Maren Morris, Brandi Carlile and Natalie Hemby), while Shires plays fiddle and performs as a backup singer for Isbell’s band, The 400 Unit.
Isbell and Shires married in February 2013 and have an 8-year-old daughter, Mercy.
