3 people are hospitalized when passenger plane catches fire after landing in Miami

A passenger plane carrying 126 people caught fire after landing on Tuesday at Miami International Airport.

Miami-Dade Aviation Department spokesman Greg Chin said that Red Air Flight 203 from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, had landed around 5:30 p.m. when the landing gear in the nose of the plane collapsed.

Three people were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries; while other passengers were bussed from the plane to the terminal. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue posted on Twitter that fire crews had placed the fire under control and were mitigating fuel spillage.

TV news images showed the plane appeared to have come to rest in grass beside the runway and it and a large area around it were apparently doused with with firefighters’ chemicals. At least three firefighting vehicles were positioned nearby. Some flights were delayed due to the fire, MIA officials said. Travelers were encouraged to check with their airlines for the latest flight information.

Luke Combs and wife Nicole welcome their first child together, son Tex Lawrence

Luke Combs and his wife Nicole welcomed their first child, a baby boy, on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 19, 2022.

Combs shared the news via Instagram on Tuesday evening, alongside their first family photo in the baby’s nursery: “Welp he decided that Fathers Day would be a good time to show up. I couldn’t agree more. Me and @nicolejcombs are over the moon in love with this little guy. Mama and baby are healthy and we’re back home now with family. Life is good. Everyone welcome Tex Lawrence Combs to the world!”

Nicole also introduced little Tex Lawrence on her Instagram with the same photos, writing: “It’s going to be hard to top this past Father’s Day. Welcome to the world, Tex Lawrence Combs. You are the best chillest angel boy and I’m so happy I was chosen to be your mom. These are the days ”

Luke and Nicole started dating in 2016 and got engaged in November 2018 while in Hawaii. In August 2020, the two were married in front of family at their home in southern Florida. The couple announced that they were expecting their first child together back in January, revealing on social media that they were having a baby boy who was set to arrive this spring.

Scotty McCreery and wife Gabi are expecting their first child together

Scotty McCreery and his wife Gabi McCreery are expecting their first child together, revealing the news exclusively with PEOPLE on Tuesday, June 21.

The couple shared that their new addition will be arriving in November. The 28-year-old McCreery also revealed their baby’s gender with the outlet: “We got a little man on the way. I was the only boy on both sides of my family, the last McCreery boy out there. Gabi’s from two sisters in her family, so I just figured it would be a girl. But we got a surprise of a boy.” On both Gabi and Scotty’s Instagram, they shared an exclusive photo published by People of the couple posing with a pair of baby boots and an ultrasound image.

Scotty and Gabi have known each other since Kindergarten, where Gabi says she used to doodle hearts and “Mrs. Gabi McCreery” in her diary. The couple were married in June 2018, and reside in North Carolina.

Bill Cosby found guilty of sexually assaulting teen at Playboy Mansion in 1975

On Tuesday, a Los Angeles jury found Bill Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 1975. The jury of eight women and four men found the 84-year-old Cosby liable for damages and awarded the plaintiff, Judy Huth, $500,000. Huth filed the civil lawsuit in 2014, but it was put on hold as prosecutors pursued a criminal case against Cosby in Pennsylvania that resulted in his 2018 conviction on charges he drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand.

Jury deliberations restarted on Monday after they left the question of whether Cosby acted with “malice, oppression or fraud” unanswered by day’s end on Friday. Jurors had reached a verdict on the eight other questions on the second day of deliberations, including whether Cosby sexually molested Huth, whether she was under 18, and whether Cosby had reason to know her age.

Huth told a reporter after the verdict was delivered, “I feel vindicated.” Cosby was released from prison last year after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overruled his 2018 criminal conviction, ruling that there was a due process violation because Cosby had an agreement with a previous prosecutor that he wouldn’t be charged in the case. Cosby has denied all allegations of sexual assault.

Netflix shares ‘Stranger Things’ Season 4, Volume 2 trailer

Netflix dropped the official trailer for Volume 2, Season 4 of “Stranger Things”, which will debut on the streaming service next month. Stranger Things is a sci-fi horror series that follows a young group of friends as they experience supernatural events. Season 4, Volume 1 premiered in May, with Volume 2 to follow July 1.

Volume 1 ended on a major cliffhanger, and the new trailer shows Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and her friends prepare to fight Vecna, a malevolent and powerful being that has been terrorizing their home of Hawkins, Ind.

“Stranger Things” also stars Caleb McLaughlin as Lucas, Gaten Matarazzo as Dustin, Sadie Sink as Max, Joe Keery as Steve, Natalie Dyer as Nancy, Charlie Heaton as Jonathan and Maya Hawke as Robin. Season 4 also features Priah Ferguson, Eduardo Franco, Joseph Quinn, Mason Dye, Robert Englund, Tom Wlaschiha, Sherman Augustus, Nikola Djuricko, Joel Stoffer, Amybeth McNulty, Myles Truitt, Regina Ting Chen and Grace Van Dien.

Season 4 of the series is executive produced by the Duffer brothers, Shawn Levy and Curtis Gwinn. Part 2 will consist of two episodes, including a supersized episode with a runtime of almost two and a half hours.

Domestic Violence Situation Ends in Shooting

In the early morning hours today, June 21, officers of the Maine State Police and the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Curtis Cove Road in Blue Hill for a report of a domestic disturbance involving an injured woman being held against her will.

Peter Pfister, 27, was inside the residence, reportedly with firearms. The State Police Tactical Team and the State Police Crisis Negotiation Team responded to assist. As a result of an armed confrontation, Mr. Pfister was shot and killed outside the residence by Detective Scott Duff and Cpl. Caleb McGary of the State Police and Deputy Sheriff Dylan Hall of Hancock County.

The woman in the residence was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. This was an isolated
incident. There is no threat to the public.

As is standard procedure in all deadly force incidents involving law enforcement, the two troopers and the deputy sheriff are on administrative leave. The cause and manner of the death of Mr. Pfister are part of the investigation by the Maine Attorney General’s Office. The State Police and Hancock County Sheriff’s Office are cooperating with the investigation.

No further information will be released during the pendency of the investigation.

Auburn Double Homicide

Earlier this week, June 19, Auburn Police and Auburn Fire were dispatched to 49 Fourth St for a reported cardiac arrest. Responders found two people deceased in an apartment.

These victims have been identified as Kelzie Caron, 21, of Auburn and Pierre Langlois, 21, of Connecticut. The Chief Medical Examiner’s Office has conducted autopsies on both victims and has ruled the cause of death as homicide for both Caron and Langlois.

The manner in which they died is not being made public at this time. The State Police Major Crimes Unit are the primary investigators on this case and are being assisted by the Auburn Police Department. The Maine State Police Evidence Response Team spent Sunday and Monday processing the scene.

Investigators have been working around the clock investigating leads generated by this incident. They have begun to identify persons of interest in the case and are working to track these people down.

Beyoncé releases new single ‘Break My Soul’

Beyoncé dropped “Break My Soul,” the first single from her forthcoming seventh solo studio album “Renaissance,” at midnight ET, via Tidal and a lyric video on YouTube. The singer had announced news of the song drop on social media Monday morning, posting on each platform with the caption “6. BREAK MY SOUL. out now.” ‘Break My Soul’ features two samples: one from Robin S.’ classic house hit “Show Me Love” and a vocal taken from Big Freedia’s “Explode,” off the 2014 LP Just Be Free.

Beyoncé had announced news about her new Renaissance LP last week; the eagerly-anticipated album (which is noted as “act i”) will be arriving on July 29. Sources say the album will feature both dance and country-leaning tracks, with contributions from hit songwriter Ryan Tedder, who co-wrote her 2008 hit “Halo” as well as hits for Adele, Taylor Swift, the Jonas Bros. and his own group, OneRepublic. Also said to be involved is Raphael Saadiq, who has crafted hits for Mary J. Blige, D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder, John Legend and Andra Day as well as his own excellent solo albums, and executive-produced “A Seat at the Table,” Beyoncé’s sister Solange’s 2016 album.

NYC taxi jumps curb in Flatiron district injuring 6 people, 3 critically

Authorities said on Monday that a New York City taxi driver collided with a bicyclist, veering onto the sidewalk and striking pedestrians in the city’s Flatiron district. The incident happened near the intersection of Broadway and 29th St., about four blocks south of the Empire State Building, at about 1 p.m. ET. Six people, including the cab driver, were taken to the hospital, with three patients in critical condition, according to the New York Police Department.

Deputy Chief John Chell with the New York Police Department said at a press conference Monday afternoon that the collision with the bicyclist appears to have been an accident, but is under investigation. The driver of the yellow medallion cab is seen on video slowing down and jumping the curb after hitting the bicyclist, and then speeding up, striking two women on the sidewalk and pinning them against a wall, Shell said. Bystanders rushing to try to lift the taxi off two women pinned by the vehicle. After striking the pedestrians, the cab crashed into a building.

Suspect still at large in D.C. mass shooting that injured 3, killed one 15-year-old boy

A suspect is still at large after a mass shooting broke out in Washington, D.C. over the weekend, killing a 15-year-old boy and injuring 3 others.

Officials say that the Sunday night shooting took place during a festival called “Moechella,” which was celebrating Juneteenth. Metropolitan Police Chief Robert Contee said that the 15-year-old boy – identified by police as Chase Poole – was killed. Three other people, including a D.C. Metropolitan police officer, were injured. The officer is expected to be OK and the two civilians were listed in stable condition.

Metro Police Chief Contee said in a statement Monday that authorities are collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses, but no suspects are in custody. A reward up to $25,000 has been offered for information leading to the gunman’s arrest and conviction.
