Rockland Police have arrested 60-year-old Robert King Jr., of Whitefield. He is accused of illegally entering an apartment, stealing a safe, and dousing the area in liquid skunk essence.

On 03/23/2026, Rockland Police took a report of a burglary to an apartment. Rockland’s Criminal Investigation Division (CID) took lead on the investigation and found the offender had not only made entry into the apartment while the owner was on vacation but had stolen a safe and doused the apartment in liquid skunk essence. Detectives pulled video from nearby businesses and were able to recover items associated with the crime from a dumpster. On 03/26/2026, Rockland CID, with assistance from members of the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, executed a search warrant on a residence in Whitefield. Later that day, Robert King Jr. (60 years-old of Whitefield) was arrested on a warrant for Felony Burglary, Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief and Theft.
