The Lisbon Police Department reported an accidental shooting at on Lisbon Street in Lisbon Falls late Tuesday afternoon, March 31.

Upon arrival, officers investigated and determined that an adult male had sustained an accidental, self-inflicted gunshot wound while attempting to disassemble a 9mm handgun that had not been properly cleared.

During the disassembly process, the firearm discharged, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries.

Lisbon Emergency Ambulance Service responded to the scene and transported the individual to Central Maine Medical Center for treatment of the gunshot wound.

No one else was injured.
