A 45-year-old Brunswick man has been charged with murder after authorities discovered a deceased adult male inside a residence during a police investigation on Friday evening.

According to a press release from the Maine State Police, the Bath Police Department responded to a reported disturbance at approximately 6:30 p.m. on April 10. During the initial investigation, Tanner Dostie, 45, of Brunswick, made statements to officers that raised concerns and led to a search warrant being executed at a residence in Brunswick.

Inside the home, investigators located the body of an unidentified adult male. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta, where an autopsy will be conducted to confirm his identity and determine the cause and manner of death.

Dostie was taken into custody and formally charged with Murder. He was transported to the Cumberland County Jail.

Authorities have not yet released the name of the deceased or additional details about the circumstances surrounding the death, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. Officials have described the case as active, and further updates are expected once the autopsy results are available and the investigation progresses.
