The Maine Drug Enforcement Agency (MDEA) and the Bath Police Department announced the arrests of two people following a months-long investigation into suspected drug trafficking activity centered in the Pittsfield and Canaan areas.

Agents from the MDEA South-Central Task Force secured arrest and search warrants on April 22. The Maine State Police Tactical Team executed the warrants at a residence on 128 Canaan Road in Pittsfield. Both individuals were taken into custody without incident.

Joshua Johnson, 44, of Pittsfield, faces three counts of aggravated trafficking of Schedule W drugs, specifically fentanyl. According to authorities, the charges are based on multiple undercover purchases made during the investigation. Johnson also had outstanding warrants for criminal trespass and violation of bail.

Samantha Quimby, 28, also of Pittsfield, was arrested on separate outstanding warrants charging her with theft, operating after suspension, and violation of bail.

Bail for Johnson was set at $5,000 cash on the aggravated trafficking charges and an additional $200 cash on the outstanding warrants. Quimby’s bail was set at $1,500. Both were transported to the Somerset County Jail, where they are being held pending initial court appearances.
