The Hallowell Fire Department responded to a car accident on Maple Street and Greenville street in Hallowell and observed that a tractor trailer and a car had been in a crash.
An estimated 70 Gallons of diesel fuel from the tractor trailer was dumped on the ground. Firefighters blocked both Maple and Water street and Maple and Greenville, to prevent any more collisions or traffic.
The DEP was requested to help clean up the fuel spill and a special tow truck was called to the scene as well to remove the tractor trailer.
There were no serious injuries reported during the accident.
