Miranda Lambert’s husband, Brendan McLoughlin, has left his job as a New York City police officer and is now working as her security guard. “His current duty status is retired,” Detective Sophia Mason, a New York Police Department DCPI spokesperson told Us Weekly. It was confirmed in July 2019 that McLoughlin, 29, had taken an “authorized leave of absence” from the force. Thank you Brendan for making me. the proudest wife and stepmom. You are the reason for all my new smile lines. I love you. #MrsMcLoughlin.”

Lambert revealed on Valentine’s Day last year that she’d married McLoughlin three months after they met on the set of Good Morning America in NYC, where he was doing crowd control while she performed with her group the Pistol Annies. The pair split their time between Nashville and New York City. His toddler son with an ex-girlfriend lives on the East Coast.

George Clooney Expresses Concern After Child Labor Allegations Are Raised Against Nespresso

Nespresso brand ambassador George Clooney says he was “surprised” and “saddened” after learning of child labor allegations raised against suppliers to the coffee maker. The allegations surfaced following an investigation for an upcoming episode of the British documentary series “Dispatches” where journalist Anthony Barnett was given access to farms in Guatemala that were reportedly linked to Starbucks and Nespresso. The episode, slated to air today, March 2, in the United Kingdom, claims young children are “working long hours in grueling conditions” in order to supply beans for the coffee giants.

“Honestly I was surprised and saddened to see this story,” Clooney said in a statement. “Clearly this board and this company still have work to do. And that work will be done.” Clooney has been a partner with the brand since 2006 when he began appearing in print and broadcast campaigns. For the last seven years, he has sat on the company’s Sustainability Advisory Board with a mission to improve the lives of farmers, make their farms more profitable and sustainable.

Authorities Identify Gunman Of Milwaukee Molson Coors Brewery Shooting

Officials have identified the employee of the Molson Coors Beverage Company who killed five co-workers at the company’s Milwaukee Brewery campus as 51-year-old Anthony Ferrill. Ferrill left the MillerCoors campus and returned to the site with a gun on Wednesday around 2 p.m. local time, according to law enforcement officials

No other victims were injured in Wednesday afternoon’s mass shooting, Milwaukee police said. Ferrill died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound, police said. The attack garnered a massive response of first responders to the brewery.

Wisconsin Gov. Tony Evers said in a statement, “Our hearts go out to the families of those whose lives were senselessly taken, all of the folks and workers at Molson Coors, and the Milwaukee community as we grapple with yet another act of gun violence that will have long-lasting consequences for this community and our state.”

California Governor Says 8,400 People Being Monitored For Coronavirus

More than 8,400 returning travelers that have entered California from Asia on commercial flights are being monitored for the coronavirus, according to California Governor Gavin Newsom. The Governor urged residents to take precautions regarding the coronavirus, while emphasizing that the risks to public health were low.  He said there was no need to declare a public health emergency, adding, “Everybody in this country is rightfully anxious about this moment. I think they should know we are meeting this moment with the kind of urgency that is necessary and I don’t want to over extend the anxiety.” The governor said that California had only received about 200 testing kits for the virus, an amount he called “simply inadequate.” But he said federal officials have promised him the state will get many more soon.

State and federal health officials are trying to locate everyone who came in contact with a northern California woman believed to be the first in the U.S. to contract the coronavirus with no known connection to travel abroad or other known causes. The woman lives in Solano County, home to the Travis Air Force Base where dozens of people infected in China or on cruise ships have been treated. But Sonia Angell, director of the California Department of Public Health, said there was no evidence the woman had any connection to the base.

California officials said the infected woman is receiving medical care in Sacramento County. The patient was brought to UC Davis Medical Center from another Northern California hospital on Feb. 19 but it was four days before the CDC tested the patient for COVID-19.
