Farmington Police say the Farmington Walmart went into lockdown Thursday morning, April 9, around 9:30am. The cause was an elderly man who was spotted waving a gun in the parking lot.
The man reportedly kept getting in and out of his vehicle at the Wilton Road store.
Walmart protocol was to go into lockdown as a precaution, which lasted about 30 minutes.
Police seized the gun and detained the man who was taken into protective custody. He was later brought to Maine Health Franklin Hospital for evaluation.
